You trained to treat patients, not to chase medical aid remittances or SARS deadlines. One Percent Accounting keeps the books for doctors, dentists and allied health practices across South Africa: bookkeeping, medical aid reconciliations, SARS VAT, provisional tax, payroll and annual financial statements, all on Xero, for one monthly fee of 1% of your practice's business turnover.
A 30-minute video call about your practice, your current accountant and what you need from us.
We connect your bank feeds, import opening balances and set up rules for medical aid and patient payments.
Each month you get a clear profit report, and your SARS VAT, PAYE and provisional tax are submitted on time.
Your practice runs as usual. Behind the scenes, this is what we do for you every month.
One fee of 1% of your practice's monthly business turnover covers everything on this page, with a minimum of R79 a month excl. VAT. A practice with R150 000 monthly turnover pays R1 500 a month excl. VAT, and a quieter month costs less. There are no hourly bills for questions. See the full fee breakdown.
One Percent Accounting works fully online, so the service is the same wherever your practice is: Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban or a smaller town. Your transactions come in through Xero bank feeds, your documents by email or upload, and meetings happen by video, so your practice never has to leave the rooms.
We already keep the books for psychology, psychiatry and physiotherapy practices. The same monthly service fits GPs and family practices, medical specialists, dentists and orthodontists, physiotherapists and biokineticists, psychologists and psychiatrists, occupational and speech therapists, audiologists, optometrists and dietitians.
Locum doctors and newly qualified practitioners opening their first rooms get provisional tax, expense tracking and their SARS and CIPC registrations sorted in the first month.
With One Percent Accounting you pay 1% of your practice's monthly business turnover, minimum R79 a month excl. VAT. That covers bookkeeping, SARS VAT, provisional and income tax, payroll for up to 10 staff and annual financial statements.
Most private healthcare services are standard-rated. From 1 April 2026 a practice must register once its taxable supplies pass R2.3 million in 12 months, and may register voluntarily from R120 000.
It depends on your income, costs and partners, and the structure must fit the HPCSA ethical rules. We work out the tax on each option before you decide.
